Data Mining Sorting

Post by helmicar01 » Mon Jan 23, 2017 1:19 pm

I have the hardest time comprehending how sorting works in Data Mining. Do you have an easy way for me to conceptualize/visualize how the sorts work?

I keep trying to run an Enrollment Report with these fields: (Entity, Homeroom Teacher, Grade) and I need a count for each Homeroom Teacher. I do not need any student's names listed but do need Homeroom Teacher name listed. I've wasted so much time trying to get it right.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

In Data Mining, you have the ability to sort by multiple options. The sort will apply to all records captured in the range parameters used.
In the example you describe, it looks like you would want to set your range parameters based on entity and then sort by homeroom teacher. You can then set the option to "Counts Only", if you don't need student names.

If cases like this, it may be best to create a Service Call. We can then assist with your specific issue, and possible webex if necessary.

thank you
